The snow over the Plains and Midwest will come to an end from west
to east overnight while expanding over the Interior Northeast
through the day Sunday. Snowfall totals will range from 3-6
inches, with the highest amounts in the higher terrain of northern
New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire and lighter amounts for
eastern Maine. A wintry mix will precede the snow through the
early morning hours in the Northeast, including the potential for
up to a tenth of an inch of ice. Further south, the flood threat
will continue for portions of the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys where
training convection continues, and a Slight Risk of Excessive
Rainfall remains in effect through Sunday morning. The convection
will continue ahead of the cold front through the Southeast
Sunday. Forecast rainfall totals generally range between 1-2
inches. A Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall is in effect for a
small portion of South Carolina where the greatest chance of
training convection ahead of a developing wave of low pressure
exists and locally higher rainfall amounts are possible. A light
wintry mix is also likely from the Mid-Atlantic through the
southern Appalachians and into the Tennessee Valley behind the
cold front. In addition to the rain and snow, bitterly cold air
will continue to overspread the Plains and Midwest behind the
front, with windchills well below zero likely overnight as far
south as Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 AM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
