The rapidly intensifying low will quickly lift northeastward along
the Eastern Seaboard which will intensify the snowfall over the
Mid-Atlantic and interior Northeast through the day. Snow will
begin to taper down across eastern portions of the Tennessee and
Ohio Valleys as the system tracks northeast. Colder air in the
wake of the front will reach the Deep South allowing for
widespread sub-freezing temperatures tonight. Wind gusts are
expected to increase as the low rapidly deepens, which may lead to
periods where the gusts reach 30 to 50 mph. Gusty winds may also
lead to blowing snow and periods of reduced visibilty across parts
of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, leading to difficult driving
conditions. Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are expected for
most of the interior Northeast. Closer to the Coast and the I-95
corridor snowfall may accumulate up to a few inches.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1000 PM EST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
