...Heavy rain batters southern Florida as the center of Potential
Tropical Cyclone One approaches from the southwest...

Tropical Storm Warnings extend from the Florida Keys northward
into central Florida.

Flood Watches are in effect from the Florida Keys northward into
central Florida.

At 800 PM EST...The center of Potential Tropical Cyclone One was
analyzed northwest of Cuba at 23.9, 84.6, with a central pressure
of 1003 mb (29.61 in/Hg). On the eastern flank of Potential
Tropical Cyclone One, Doppler RADAR detected an expansive area of
showers and thunderstorms slowly streaming northward into
south-central Florida. Gusty winds up to 50 kts were observed
offshore Key West as Potential Tropical Cyclone One approaches.

The center of Potential Tropical Cyclone One is forecast to cross
southern Florida tomorrow. Additional heavy rainfall is expected
through Saturday evening, with storm total rainfall amounts of 4-8
inches (with local maxima up to 12 inches) likely over Central
Florida, South Florida and the Florida Keys. Considerable flash
and urban flooding is possible across South Florida and in the
Keys, where a Moderate Risk of excessive rainfall is in effect
through tomorrow morning. By late Saturday, Potential Tropical
Cyclone One will exit the Florida Peninsula eastward, ending the
heavy rainfall threat in Florida.
