...The wintry weather over the Intermountain West is winding down,
although locally heavy mountain snow is possible over portions of
the North-Central Rockies...

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for portions of the Northern
and Central Rockies.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect over western portions of
the Northern and Central Rockies.

At 600 AM PST...An expansive northeast-southwest oriented cold
front with multiple waves of low pressure continued to press
southeast across portions of the Upper Midwest into the Great
Basin. In its wake, chilly subfreezing temperatures were observed
this morning across much of the Intermountain West, with frigid
sub-zero temperatures noted over the Northern Plains beneath an
Arctic airmass sliding down the lee of the Rockies. National
Weather Service Doppler radar and surface observations detected
scattered moderate to heavy snowfall ongoing over portions of the
Northern and Central Rockies, and the Northern Plains. Sustained
gusty winds of 20-30 kts were also observed in the Northern Plains
in the vicinity of the Arctic cold front.

Cold and dry high pressure is forecast to set in over the Rockies
in the wake of the aforementioned cold front by tonight, bringing
an end to snowfall over the region. Locally heavy snowfall and
hazardous travel conditions may persist with the ongoing activity
in the Northern and Central Rockies before the activity subsides
through today.
