Areas of moderate to heavy lake effect snow and gusty winds will
continue to impact the Great Lakes region overnight and through
early Sunday, but should begin to subside later Sunday as the
surface low over Quebec weakens and begins to pull away.
Regardless, storm total snowfall amounts are still forecast to be
as much as 2 to 4 feet before the snow tapers off. Very cold
temperatures will remain in place through the remainder of the
holiday weekend, with temperatures on Christmas Day still forecast
to be as much as 15 to 25 degrees below average across the eastern
U.S.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 AM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
