The system will become nearly stationary over the Upper Midwest on
Wednesday with swaths of heavy snow and light freezing rain
forecast to continue. Snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour are
expected tonight south of Lake Superior, and additional snowfall
totals of 6 to 12 inches will be possible in portions of the Upper
Midwest. Gusty winds will could result in areas of blowing and
drifting snow, leading to snow covered roads and reduced
visibility. Freezing rain is forecast to spread into northern New
York Wednesday night, and ice accumulations of 0.25 inches or more
are likely for portions of the North Country of New York. The
system will continue to linger over the Upper Midwest on Thursday,
then push Northeast late this week.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 AM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
