...Widespread moderate to heavy snowfall has exited the Northeast,
while Lake Effect Snow persists downwind of the Lower Great
Lakes...
Lake Effect Snow Warnings are in effect for portions of northeast
Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania and western New York downwind of Lake
Erie.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect areas downwind of Lakes
Ontario and Erie.

At 900 PM EST...The low pressure system was analyzed directly off
the Nova Scotia coast approximately 150 miles to the east of
Maine, with a central pressure of 975mb, or 28.79 inches of
mercury. Surface troughs of low pressure were analyzed extending
to the south and west of the low-pressure system towards Boston,
MA. RADAR and surface observations indicated that the heaviest
snow had moved eastward away from New England, with lingering
light snow being reported in eastern Maine. On the backside of the
storm, strong winds and cold air was producing heavy snow downwind
of Lakes Erie and Ontario.

Light snow will persist in eastern Maine through tonight with an
additional 1-3 inches of snow possible, before clearing from west
to east as the low pressure system moves further off the Nova
Scotia coast. In the wake of the deepening low pressure system,
Lake Effect Snow will continue downwind of the Lower Great Lakes
through tonight, with 3-5 inches possible where the axis of
heaviest snow persists.
