Moderate to heavy snow is expected to continue to spread northward
into New England, leading to snowfall rates of 2-4"/hr over the
next 12 hours as the low-pressure system moves to the north and
east. Snowfall totals of 12-24 inches, with isolated pockets of
30"+ are possible across much of coastal New England. Further
south, the heaviest snowfall rates should continue to pivot
offshore the Mid-Atlantic and New Jersey coast through the morning
hours, before tapering off in the afternoon. Additional snowfall
amounts of 5-8 inches are possible along the immediate coast, with
lesser amounts expected further inland. High winds combined with
heavy snowfall will make travel nearly impossible today along the
I-95 corridor and east, from Philadelphia northward, with Major to
Extreme impacts likely across much of the Northeast per the Winter
Storm Severity Index.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1000 PM EST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
