Over the next 12 hours the draping frontal boundary is forecast to
progress slowly southward. The aerial snowfall coverage will also
expand southward in tandem, advancing into the Central Plains,
mainland Michigan, and eastern Colorado. The most appreciable
snowfall accumulations will likely occur from central Minnesota to
the Michigan Upper Peninsula and over portions of the Central
Rockies. Additionally, the eastern portion of the front is
expected to stall over portions of the Middle Missisippi and Ohio
Valleys later today due to the northward advection of warmer air
originating in the Gulf of Mexico. This influx of higher
temperatures will allow for the development of mixed precipitation
and freezing rain from eastern Iowa through mainland Michigan,
where ice accretions reaching and exceeding 0.1" will be possible.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
