of 989 mb, or approximately 29.2 inches of mercury. A cold front
extended southward through the Mississippi Valley with a
stationary front extending north-northeastward through northern

northwestward through the Upper Midwest into the Northern Plains.
NWS Doppler radar showed a broad, comma head area of
precipitation, circling around the low and then extending eastward
and eventually southward. Areas of light to moderate rainfall
continued to the east of the fronts in the warm sector, with radar
and surface observations indicating light to moderate snowfall
along and to the west of the front over western/northern Wisconsin
into eastern Minnesota. In addition, surface observations showed

The main surface low is forecast to move northeastward across Lake
Superior and into Canada later Tuesday evening. Some additional
snowfall accumulations upwards of 3-6" are expected to the
northwest of the surface low track through eastern and
northern/the Arrowhead of Minnesota and far western/northwestern
Wisconsin. Some ice may mix in along and to the north of the
stationary front in northern Wisconsin as strong southerly flow
brings some warmer air in just above the surface, with ice
accretions up to 0.1" possible. Blustery winds will also lead to
areas of blowing snow, even for areas further west where snowfall
has already come to an end. The snow showers and wintry
precipitation will begin to taper off and eventually come to an
end into Tuesday night as the system departs the area. Rain
showers and storms will continue to the east in the warm sector of
the system, with enough upper-level dynamics/intense winds to lead
to a few severe wind gusts, with a Slight Risk of Severe Weather
from the Storm Prediction Center over southern Michigan,
northeastern Indiana, and northwestern Ohio.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1000 PM CDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
