...Snow spreading across the Upper Midwest as winter storm slowly
tracks east...

A Blizzard Warning is in effect for portions of Upper Michigan.

Numerous Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are
in effect across portions of Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin,
Michigan, New York, Connecticut, Massacheusetts, Vermont, New
Hampshire and Maine.

Wind Advisories are in effect for portions of the Mississippi
Valley and New England.

At 900 AM CDT...The central low pressure of 984 mb (29.06 inHG)
was positioned over south-central Lake Michigan with an occluded
front extending northward into northern parts of Lower Michigan
and eastward to western Pennsylvania with the rest of the
cold/stationary front trailing along the western Appalachians.
General motion is very slow to the east. A broad area of snow has
been observed within the wrap around flow across the Upper
Midwest. The heaviest snow is occurring in Upper Michigan and is
resulting in Blizzard conditions. Scattered to widespread rain is
lifting trough the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast.

The occluded low pressure system is expected to advance east
toward the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. A broad area of snow will
persist in the wrap around flow with the parent low that tracks
through northern Indiana and Ohio. Snow will persist across Upper
Michigan while tapering off across parts of the Mississippi
Valley. The Rain lifting up the East Coast is expected to
transition to mostly snow for New England although there may be
period where a wintry mix and/or freezing rain develops across the
Poconos, Berkshires, Adirondacks and Catskills. Snow accumulations
over 1 foot likely for the favored higher terrain of northern New
England with locally 2 feet possible.
