The front will remain nearly stationary overnight before slowly
pushing south through Wednesday. Overnight, a new cluster of
thunderstorms is forecast to form upstream over Iowa and Illinois,
eventually tracking east across the already saturated soils of the
Ohio Valley. Widespread additional rainfall totals of 1 to 3
inches are expected, with localized training bands dumping up to 4
to 6 inches. Because ground conditions across the Ohio Valley are
thoroughly soaked, any renewed heavy rain will immediately create
rapid runoff, maintaining a threat for flash flooding through
Wednesday.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1100 AM EDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
