...Additional rounds of heavy rainfall and flash flooding expected
across the Midwest, Ohio Valley, and the Appalachians for the next
few days...

Flood Warnings are in effect for portions of the Midwest from Iowa
to Indiana.

Flood Watches are in effect from central Iowa to West Virginia.

At 1000 PM EDT...A stationary front remains draped across the
Midwest, Ohio Valley, and central/southern Appalachians with weak
waves of low pressure along the boundary. National Weather Service
Doppler radar shows a band of showers and thunderstorms streaming
northwest to southeast from eastern Iowa to northern Indiana.
Additionally, an MCS is providing heavy rainfall across eastern
Kentucky.

The stationary front will remain the focal point for additional
rounds thunderstorms with heavy rainfall tonight and into
tomorrow. The cluster of storms over western Iowa and northern
Illinois is expected to translate southeastward through the night
towards central Illinois and Indiana per the latest hi-res models.
Thunderstorms are likely to grow upscale overnight as the low
level jet increases at the surface while a mid-level disturbance
enters the area and provides an additional source of lift.
Conditions will be favorable for training/repeating thunderstorms
and will increase the flash flood potential across Illinois and
especially Indiana, where the ground is saturated from rounds of
heavy rainfall this week. Going into tomorrow afternoon,
additional rain will likely renew a flash flood threat from Iowa
to West Virginia.
