Great Lakes today...
Blizzard Warnings are in effect for parts of northern Wisconsin
and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories extend from
eastern Minnesota into the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
Wind Advisories are in effect for portions of the Upper Midwest,
Ohio Valley, and Interior Northeast.
Lake Effect Snow Warnings are in effect for downwind areas of Lake
Erie and Lake Ontario.

At 800 AM CST...A strong storm system with a 992 mb (29.29 in Hg)
minimum central pressure continued a northeastward track from the
Upper Midwest into the western Great Lakes. The strong pressure
gradient around this low pressure system was producing strong
winds across the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest, with
widespread wind gusts of 30-40 mph noted. Recent radar moasic
imagery showed moderate to heavy snow falling across parts of the
Upper Midwest and western Great Lakes along the northwest flank of
the storm center.

The strong low pressure system will track northeastward into
Ontario today, maintaining the threat of heavy blowing snowfall.
The heaviest snow with this system will fall across the Minnesota
Arrowhead, far northern Wisconsin, and especially western portions
of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where totals of 1 to 2 feet are
forecast. As the system pulls away later today into Thursday,
bands of lake effect snow will ramp up downwind of the Great Lakes
through the end of the week.
