...Heavy snow and hurricane-force wind gusts spreading along the
Maine coast while conditions begin to improve winds farther west
across southern New England...
Blizzard Warnings remain in effect along the Maine coast through
tomorrow morning.
Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories remain in
effect near or along the western slopes of the Appalachians and
across the inland sections of the New England.
Gale and Storm Warnings are in effect for coastal waters of New
England.

At 900 PM EST...An intense cyclone, with an estimated central
pressure of 969 mb (28.60 in Hg) was nearing the Canadian
Maritimes. After deepening explosively just off the Delmarva
peninsula last evening, the center of this intense cyclone
continued to track east-northeast passing between 100 to 200 miles
south of the southern New England coast this morning and is
pushing further east away from New England this evening. Heavy
snow in combination with gale-force winds continued to batter New
England where hurricane-force wind gusts have been reported. Since
this morning, snowfall has concluded across the Northeast and
Mid-Atlantic as the cyclone tracks further away.

As the Nor'easter moves farther away, blizzard conditions across
southeastern New England will gradually subside this evening.
However, heavy snow and gale-force winds will continue tonight
along the Maine coast before the storm pulls away on Tuesday. The
combination of heavy snowfall and strong wind gusts (40-60 mph)
will result in blizzard conditions across these regions, and
sharply reduced visibility will make travel extremely treacherous.
These strong winds combined with the weight of heavy, wet snow,
should result in scattered to numerous power outages.
