...Impactful winter storm continues from the Northern Plains
through through the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, bringing heavy
snow, sleet, and freezing rain...

Ice Storm Warnings are in effect for northern Wisconsin, and the
Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for southern North Dakota,
northern South Dakota, northern Minnesota, and southeast Montana.

Winter Weather advisories are in effect parts of northern North
Dakota, central South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, and northern
Wisconsin.

At 900 PM CDT...Latest surface analysis depicts a broad low
pressure circulation located in southern Iowa, with a minimum
central pressure of 1007 mb. Widespread surface flow is
approximately northerly on the northern periphery of the system,
with surface temperatures in the upper 20s to mid 30s through the
Dakotas, Minnesota, and the Midwest. GOES-19 Satellite imagery
depicts a wide band of precipitation associated with a cold front
spanning from south-central Minnesota to the central Plains, with
additional precipitation in the Dakotas. NWS Doppler Radar
indicates light to moderate snowfall in Minnesota and Wisconsin,
and light snow in the Dakotas.

Wintry precipitation will continue as the surface low pressure
system continues moving northeastward, reaching the Great Lakes
tonight into Saturday morning, and exiting into Canada on Saturday
evening. Snowfall is expected into the overnight hours tonight and
will continue through Saturday in the Dakotas and Minnesota. As
snow bands move northeast, snowfall rates will likely reach 1-2
inches per hour, with significant additional snow accumulations
expected. Additionally, freezing rain and ice will be a concern
for parts of Wisconsin and Michigan, with the greatest
accumulations expected in northern Wisconsin, and the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan. This ice will compound impacts from the
first storm, increasing the risk of tree damage and power outages.
