Range into the adjacent foothills and Denver metro area.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for much of Colorado and
portions of Wyoming.

At 800 PM MDT...A cold front was pushing south across the Central
United States with the tail end banked up against the Rocky
Mountains. National Weather Service Doppler Radar showed heavy
snow falling over southeastern Wyoming and Colorado, with moderate
snow spreading into the adjacent Plains. Snow began to fall this
morning and continued through the day today, with some of the
higher elevations in northern Colorado already reporting over a
foot of snow.

Heavy, wet snow will continue across southeastern Wyoming and
Colorado through Wednesday. Additional snowfall amounts of 6-12
inches are expected for the Denver metro area and foothills, with
higher amounts forecast for the higher elevations. Snow will cause
major travel disruptions, particularly along the I-25 and I-80
corridors, with the worst travel conditions expected during the
Wednesday morning commute. The heavy nature of this snow will
likely lead to downed tree limbs and power outages. Snow should
gradually taper off from north to south by Wednesday evening.
