Multiple feet of snow are likely for higher elevations in the West
Coast, especially above 5000 ft, including the Sierra Nevada
Passes (including I-80). Extremely heavy snowfall rates surpassing
3 inches combined with very strong winds will result in impossible
travel conditions in the Sierra Nevada. By the end of the event,
5-12 FEET of snow can be expected along the crest of the Sierra
Nevada. Further east, widespread damaging wind gusts possibly in
excess of 75 mph can be expected across the Intermountain West.
These winds will likely down trees and power lines, resulting in
widespread power outages.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 700 PM PST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
