AT 11PM EDT SUNDAY EVENING...TROPICAL DEPRESSION DANNY WAS
CENTERED OVER SOUTHWESTERN ALABAMA. THE STORM SYSTEM CONTINUES
TO WEAKEN...WITH THE LOWEST PRESSURE ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1009
MB...ABOUT 8 MB HIGHER THAN 12 HOURS AGO. WINDS HAVE DIMINISHED TO
ABOUT 15 MPH WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS TO 30 MPH. THE STORM HAS BEEN
NEARLY STATIONARY FOR MANY HOURS...AND MAY MOVE LITTLE UNTIL
TUESDAY WHEN WEATHER SYSTEMS TRACKING ACROSS THE NORTHERN
UNITED STATES LIFT THE REMNANTS SLOWLY NORTHEASTWARD.
RAINFALL WITH DANNY DURING THE EVENING HAS BEEN MAINLY ON THE
WESTERN SIDE OF THE LOW. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT OVER
CLARKE...MONROE...AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES IN ALABAMA THROUGH THE
NIGHT. PRECIPITATION MAY PULL TOWARD THE CENTER OF THE LOW
OVERNIGHT...THEN REDEVELOP TO THE EAST OF THE SYSTEM DURING THE DAY
MONDAY...THREATENING PARTS OF SOUTHEASTERN ALABAMA AND
SOUTHWESTERN GEORGIA WITH HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.
SOME AREAS MAY RECEIVE 3-5 INCHES OF RAINFALL BY MIDDAY TODAY.
RAINS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BE AS HEAVY OVER THE ALABAMA PANHANDLE
INCLUDING MOBILE BAY. IN BALDWIN COUNTY...WHERE 10 INCHES OF RAIN
FELL SATURDAY...MANY ROADS REMAINED CLOSED OR WASHED OUT SUNDAY
AFTERNOON. CONDITIONS SHOULD IMPROVE THERE NOW THAT MOST OF THE
PRECIPITATION HAS SHIFTED NORTH.
THE SURF WILL CONTINUE A BIT CHOPPY TODAY ALONG THE WESTERN
FLORIDA PANHANDLE...BUT MOST OF THE STORM SURGE HAS NOW RECEDED.
