AT 12 NOON EDT THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMAINS
OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION "DANNY" WAS CENTERED JUST NORTHEAST OF
ATLANTA, GEORGIA. THE REMAINS OF "DANNY" CONTINUE TO PRODUCE VERY
HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING. OVER 6 INCHES OF RAIN WAS
REPORTED IN HARALSON COUNTY ON THE GEORGIA/ALABAMA BORDER
TUESDAY NIGHT. IN ADDITION... HEAVIER RAINFALL AMOUNTS FOR THE 24
HOURS ENDING AT 8 AM EDT THIS MORNING INCLUDED 3.77 INCHES AT
MARIETTA, GEORGIA AND 3.10 INCHES AT TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA.
THE REMAINS OF "DANNY" ARE FORECAST TO MOVE INTO WESTERN SOUTH
CAROLINA BY WEDNESDAY EVENING AND INTO SOUTH-CENTRAL VIRGINIA BY
THURSDAY MORNING. THE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE HEAVY
RAINFALL AS IT MOVES NORTHEASTWARD. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL THROUGH
EARLY THURSDAY SHOULD BE FOUND ACROSS NORTHEASTERN GEORGIA...
WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE CAROLINAS AND SOUTH-CENTRAL VIRGINIA.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES ARE LIKELY THROUGH THURSDAY
MORNING ALONG THE TRACK OF THE SYSTEM.
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EDT FOR RABUN COUNTY IN
NORTHEASTERN GEORGIA AND FOR JACKSON AND MACON COUNTIES IN
WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA. SOME LOCATIONS IN JACKSON COUNTY, NORTH
CAROLINA REPORTED OVER 2 INCHES OF RAIN IN ABOUT AN HOUR LATE THIS
MORNING. FLASH FLOOD WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT TODAY FOR NORTHERN
GEORGIA... THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS OF SOUTH CAROLINA... AND THE
MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA. MEANWHILE... FLASH FLOOD WATCHES ARE
