AT 12 NOON EDT THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMAINS
OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION "DANNY" WAS LOCATED NEAR ROCKY MOUNTAIN,
NORTH CAROLINA. THE MAIN PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM
CONTINUE TO BE VERY HEAVY RAINS... FLASH FLOODING... AND SEVERE
WEATHER.

VERY HEAVY RAINS HAVE FALLEN DURING THE PAST 24 HOURS ACROSS
PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHEAST U.S. IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE REMAINS OF
"DANNY". HEAVIER PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS FOR THE 24 HOURS ENDING AT 8
AM EDT INCLUDED 6.08 INCHES AT SANDHILL, SOUTH CAROLINA... 5.70 INCHES
AT CAMDEN, SOUTH CAROLINA... AND 4.13 INCHES AT HIGHLANDS, NORTH
CAROLINA. SEVERE WEATHER HAS ALSO BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM.
WINDS GUSTED TO 52 MPH AT RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA THURSDAY MORNING
AND THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF DOWNED TREES ACROSS
PORTIONS OF THE STATE.

"DANNY" WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTHEASTWARD AND IS EXPECTED TO BE
OVER THE SOUTHERN TIP OF THE DELMARVA PENINSULA BY THURSDAY
EVENING. FLASH FLOODING AND SEVERE WEATHER WILL CONTINUE TO BE A
THREAT. FLASH FLOOD AND HIGH WIND WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT UNTIL 2PM
EDT FOR EDGECOMBE... HALIFAX... NASH... AND WILSON COUNTIES IN NORTH
CAROLINA. FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS HAVE ALSO BEEN POSTED FOR WAKE
COUNTY.

A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2PM EDT FOR MUCH OF NORTHEASTERN
NORTH CAROLINA AND SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA. HIGH WIND WARNINGS HAVE
BEEN POSTED UNTIL 4PM EDT FOR THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF NORTH
CAROLINA. IN ADDITION... WINDS WILL INCREASE ALONG THE MID ATLANTIC
COAST LATER TODAY. GAIL WARNINGS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THE NORTHERN
COASTAL WATERS OF NORTH CAROLINA AND FOR THE ALBEMARLE SOUND.
