Tropical Storm Debbie - September 7-9, 1957
A tropical wave interacted with an upper trough over the Gulf of Mexico, spawning a weak surface low in the
central Gulf of Mexico on September 7th. The tropical depression moved northward, strengthening into a minimal
tropical storm as it moved into the western Florida panhandle on the morning of the 8th. Rains were heaviest east
of its track across the eastern panhandle. The system moved across southeast Alabama and dissipated as it entered
southwest Georgia. The storm total rainfall maps below were constructed using data from data archived at the National
Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina
