Tropical Depression Thirteen - September 23-27, 1973

A tropical depression formed north of the Bahamas on the morning of September 24th.  Initially moving north-
northwest towards a break in the subtropical ridge, its northward movement halted as ridging at the surface and
aloft turned the depression towards the west.  The depression made landfall near Marineland, and dissipated as
it crossed the Florida peninsula and approached the Gulf of Mexico. The graphics below show the storm total
rainfall for the tropical depression, with data provided by the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville,
North Carolina.
