THE MIDWEST STATES...

FLOOD AND FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS ARE CURRENTLY IN EFFECT FOR
PORTIONS OF NORTHEASTERN NEBRASKA...SOUTH DAKOTA...MUCH OF
IOWA...SOUTHERN WISCONSIN...ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN
NORTHEASTERN MISSOURI... WESTERN ILLINOIS...NORTHERN
ILLINOIS...INDIANA...AND OHIO.

FLASH FLOOD WATCHES ARE CURRENTLY IN EFFECT FOR SECTIONS OF
SOUTHERN WISCONSIN...IOWA... AS WELL AS NORTHERN
ILLINOIS...INDIANA...AND OHIO.

FOR THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS...A QUASI-STATIONARY FRONTAL
BOUNDARY...CURRENTLY EXTENDING FROM THE CENTRAL PLAINS THROUGH THE
UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY INTO THE GREAT LAKES REGION...HAS SERVED
AS A FOCUS FOR HEAVY RAINFALL. OVER THE PAST SIX HOURS...NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE RADARS HAVE SHOWN WIDESPREAD LIGHT TO MODERATE
RAIN MOVING NORTHEAST ACROSS MINNESOTA INTO NORTHERN WISCONSIN AND
THE UPPER PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN. FARTHER SOUTH...HEAVY
RAIN...ASSOCIATED WITH A COMPLEX OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS...WAS
HEADED EAST ACROSS THE CHICAGO METROPOLITAN AREA. 

ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE AFFECTED REGION...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS
WERE OCCURRING OR ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THIS EVENING. IN
ADDITION TO PRODUCING HEAVY RAINS...SOME OF THESE STORMS HAVE
CONTAINED LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.

OF 1 TO 3 INCHES. ISOLATED HEAVIER TOTALS AROUND FOUR INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE BY FRIDAY MORNING. THE SYSTEM SHOULD PUSH EAST INTO THE
OHIO VALLEY BY SATURDAY...BRINGING AND END TO THE RAIN FOR THE
REGION.
