TUESDAY MORNING INTO WEDNESDAY...

...WINTER STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF WESTERN AND
CENTRAL TEXAS...ALONG THE I-10 CORRIDOR WITH ICE STORM WARNINGS
JUST NORTH OF THE HOUSTON METRO AREA EXTENDING AS FAR NORTH AS
COLLEGE STATION AND EXTENDING NORTHEASTWARD TO JUST OUTSIDE OF
LUFKIN...

...WINTER STORM WATCHES COVER MUCH OF SOUTHERN TEXAS...ALONG THE
SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE WINTER STORM WARNINGS. IN ADDITION...A WINTER
WEATHER WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR AREAS SURROUNDING AND WITHIN SAN
ANGELO. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF
SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL TEXAS AND CENTRAL LOUISIANA...

COLD AIR IS ALREADY IN PLACE ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TEXAS.
TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO FALL TUESDAY MORNING AS ARCTIC HIGH
PRESSURE OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS CONTINUES TO PUSH COLD AIR SOUTH.
AT THE SAME TIME...MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO AND PACIFIC
WILL COMBINE OVER THE REGION WITH PRECIPITATION EXPANDING AND
INCREASING IN INTENSITY.

AT 2 AM CST TUESDAY...DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED LIGHT
PRECIPITATION STREAMING FROM NORTHERN MEXICO INTO MUCH OF CENTRAL
TEXAS. WITH PRECIPITATION COVERAGE EXPECTED TO EXPAND OVER
TIME...AREAS IN SOUTH TEXAS SHOULD EXPECT PRECIPITATION TO
COMMENCE SHORTLY. SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A MIXTURE OF
SNOW...SLEET...FREEZING RAIN AND RAIN REACHING THE GROUND OVER
MUCH OF THE AFFECTED AREA.

THE HEAVIEST SNOWS SHOULD BE OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE BIG
BEND REGION WHERE 6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE. SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE MUCH LESS ACROSS CENTRAL INTO SOUTHERN TEXAS
WHERE THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE A MIXTURE OF SNOW...SLEET AND
FREEZING RAIN. ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE-QUARTER INCH ARE
POSSIBLE THAT WILL CAUSE TRAVEL PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE POWER
OUTAGES.

PREDICTION CENTER AT 9 AM CST TUESDAY.  PLEASE REFER TO YOUR LOCAL
