LOUISIANA...

ICE STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN
TEXAS.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN
AND EASTERN TEXAS...NORTHERN LOUISIANA AND SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI.

WINTER STORM WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF WESTERN TEXAS
AND OKLAHOMA. 

ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE PLAINS HAS LOCKED IN COLD AIR OVER
CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TEXAS. TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO HOVER NEAR OR
BELOW FREEZING ALONG AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY I-10. THE UPPER-LEVEL
DISTURBANCE THAT MOVED ACROSS TEXAS AND BROUGHT SNOW TO SOUTH
CENTRAL AND NORTHEASTERN TEXAS AND FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET THROUGH
SOUTHEASTERN TEXAS INTO LOUISIANA IS WEAKENING AS IT MOVES
NORTHEASTWARD. FROZEN PRECIPITATION HAS BEEN DIMINISHING ACROSS
TEXAS AND LOUISIANA.

AT 2 PM CST WEDNESDAY...DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED LIGHT TO
MODERATE PRECIPITATION MOVING FROM WEST TO EAST FROM EASTERN TEXAS
AND LOUISIANA INTO MISSISSIPPI AND ALABAMA. SURFACE OBSERVATIONS
INDICATED A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND RAIN IN
TEXAS...WESTERN AND NORTHERN LOUISIANA...AND NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI.
RAIN WAS THE PRIMARY PRECIPITATION TYPE IN EASTERN
LOUISIANA...SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI AND ALABAMA. 

AS THIS DISTURBANCE CONTINUES EASTWARD...AREAS OF GEORGIA AND
SOUTH CAROLINA COULD EXPERIENCE SOME FREEZING RAIN DURING
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY. WINTER WEATHER AND FREEZING
RAIN ADVISORIES HAVE BEEN POSTED FOR THESE AREAS.
