...ALBERTA CLIPPER SYSTEM IS CURRENTLY PRODUCING SNOWFALL FROM THE
OHIO VALLEY EASTWARD INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC STATES...

SNOW ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR AN AREA EXTENDING FROM ILLINOIS
SOUTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE OHIO VALLEY INTO THE MIDDLE ATLANTIC

CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS.

AT 845 AM EST...A 999 MILLIBAR LOW PRESSURE CENTER WAS LOCATED IN
SOUTHERN INDIANA. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADARS AND
CURRENT SURFACE OBSERVATIONS SHOWED THAT LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOWS
WERE EXTENDING FROM INDIANA EASTWARD INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION.
THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL OCCURRING IN THIS SYSTEM WAS LOCATED ACROSS
SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA...SOUTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA...AND
SOUTHEASTERN OHIO. WITH MOST TEMPERATURES HOVERING AT...OR BELOW
32 DEGREES FARENHEIT...THIS WEATHER SYSTEM IS MAINLY A SNOWFALL
EVENT WHICH WAS MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 T0 50 MPH TOWARD THE
EAST-SOUTHEAST.

THE LOW PRESSURE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SNOWFALL WILL DROP
SOUTHEASTWARD AND BE LOCATED NEAR SOUTHERN VIRGINIA BY WEDNESDAY
EVENING. A BAND OF SNOW WILL TRACK SOUTHEASTWARD TO THE NORTH AND
EAST OF THE LOW. BY MIDDAY WEDNESDAY...THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE
FOUND ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY FROM OHIO EASTWARD INTO SOUTHEASTERN
PENNSYLVANIA...AND STRETCHING SOUTHWARD INTO CENTRAL MARYLAND AND
NORTHERN VIRGINIA.

WHILE THIS IS NOT A MAJOR SNOWSTORM...CLIPPERS SUCH AS THIS ARE
KNOWN TO PRODUCE NARROW BANDS OF HEAVY SNOW...AND THIS HAS SO FAR
BEEN THE CASE IN NORTH DAKOTA...MINNESOTA...AND ILLINOIS. SNOW
WILL DEVELOP TODAY ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA...MARYLAND AND
VIRGINIA AND END TONIGHT AS THE SURFACE LOW MOVES OFF THE MIDDLE
ATLANTIC COAST.
