967 MB...28.55 INCHES...WAS LOCATED WELL OFFSHORE THE PACIFIC
NORTHWEST. A SECOND SYSTEM MOVING TO ITS SOUTH WILL SWEEP A COLD
FRONT AND OCCLUDED FRONT THROUGH CALIFORNIA INTO NEVADA DURING THE
DAY TODAY BRINGING ANOTHER BATCH OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION. NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADARS AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED
MODERATE AND HEAVY RAINS FALLING ACROSS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WITH
SNOW REPORTED AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS. LIGHTER RAIN AND HIGHER
ELEVATION SNOW WAS STREAMING EASTWARD THROUGH EASTERN
ARIZONA...WESTERN NEW MEXICO...AND SOUTHERN IDAHO ASSOCIATED WITH
A WEAKENING FRONTAL ZONE.

A SERIES OF PACIFIC STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO APPROACH THE
CALIFORNIA COASTLINE THIS WEEK. THE MAIN SURFACE LOWS WILL TURN
NORTHWARD ALONG THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST COAST WHILE PUSHING THEIR
FRONTS THROUGH CALIFORNIA AND INTO THE GREAT BASIN. BY THE END OF
THE WEEK... WIDESPREAD ADDITIONAL RAINFALL TOTALS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES
ARE EXPECTED ACROSS CALIFORNIA AND INTO ARIZONA...WITH LOCAL
AMOUNTS OF UP TO 15 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA COASTAL RANGES AND MOGOLLON RIM OF ARIZONA. SNOWFALL
TOTALS WILL BE SEVERAL FEET ALONG THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS BUT
ABOUT 6 TO 10 INCHES FARTHER EAST OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF
SOUTHERN NEVADA AND UTAH. STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS WILL IMPACT
CALIFORNIA AS THE STORMS MOVE ASHORE.
