HIGH WIND WATCHES AND WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR MOST OF CENTRAL
CALIFORNIA INCLUDING THE COAST...SOUTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA...AND
SOUTHWESTERN ARIZONA.
FLASH FLOOD WATCHES AND COASTAL FLOOD WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR
COASTAL AREAS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND PORTIONS OF ARIZONA.
FLOOD WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT FOR AREAS NEAR THE COLORADO RIVER IN
NEVADA... CALIFORNIA...AND ARIZONA. A FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT
FOR PART OF THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA COAST.
A BLIZZARD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 7000 FEET IN
SOUTHEASTERN ARIZONA FOR THURSDAY. A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN
EFFECT FOR THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHERN ARIZONA FOR FRIDAY
THROUGH SUNDAY.

CALIFORNIA INCLUDING THE SIERRA MOUNTAIN RANGE...PORTIONS OF

SEVERAL WATERSPOUTS AND TORNADOES ON TUESDAY HAS DISSIPATED OVER
THE GREAT BASIN. A NEW SURFACE LOW FORMED EARLIER TODAY OVER
ARIZONA AND WAS MOVING NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH SOUTHERN COLORADO.
THE NEXT STORM SYSTEM HEADED FOR CALIFORNIA...WITH A 972 MB
PRESSURE...WAS LOCATED ABOUT 180 MILES WEST OF THE NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA COAST. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADARS AND
SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED ANOTHER ROUND OF WIDESPREAD
MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WITH HIGH ELEVATION SNOW OVER MOST OF
CALIFORNIA...WHICH WAS MOVING STEADILY INLAND. LIGHT TO MODERATE
LOWLAND RAIN AND HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW WAS OBSERVED OVER PARTS OF

MOVES ONTO THE CALIFORNIA COAST. BY THE END OF THE
WEEK...WIDESPREAD STORM PRECIPITATION TOTALS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED ACROSS CALIFORNIA AND INTO ARIZONA...WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS
OF UP TO 12 INCHES POSSIBLE ALONG THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COASTAL
RANGES AND MOGOLLON RIM OF ARIZONA. THIS WILL BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE
SIGNIFICANT FLOODING ISSUES IN SOME AREAS. SEVERAL FEET OF
SNOWFALL ARE POSSIBLE IN THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS...AS WELL AS
THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHERN ARIZONA. STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS
WILL AGAIN IMPACT CALIFORNIA AND COASTAL OREGON AS THE STORM
SYSTEMS MOVE ASHORE...WITH THE HIGHEST WINDS LIKELY OVER THE
CRESTS OF MOUNTAIN RANGES.
