AT 900 AM CDT...A SURFACE LOW WITH A CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 992
MB...29.29 INCHES...WAS LOCATED OVER SOUTHERN LAKE MICHIGAN AND
MOVING NORTHEASTWARD. A FRONTAL BOUNDARY EXTENDED FROM THIS LOW
INTO THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY AND SOUTHWARD INTO THE DEEP SOUTH.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED
AREAS OF PRECIPITATION EXTENDING FROM THE GREAT LAKES SOUTHWARD
THROUGH THE OHIO VALLEY AND INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST.
NORTHWEST OF THE SURFACE LOW...COLDER AIR IN PLACE WAS ALLOWING
PRECIPITATION TO FALL IN THE FORM OF SNOW...WHICH WAS GENERALLY
LIGHT. FARTHER EAST AND SOUTH...PRECIPITATION WAS FALLING IN THE
FORM OF LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN. THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING
ACROSS SOME AREAS OF THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS AND SOUTHEAST U.S.

NORTHEASTWARD...INTO CANADA BY TONIGHT. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO
PERSIST THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING ACROSS MUCH OF THE GREAT LAKES.
ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 6 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED
ACROSS SOME PORTIONS OF THE GREAT LAKES REGION THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING. HEAVY RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS AREAS OF THE
MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEASTERN STATES...WITH 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN
EXPECTED THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING IN SOME AREAS. SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE TODAY AND TONIGHT ACROSS AREAS
OF THE EASTERN U.S. FROM EASTERN GEORGIA NORTHWARD TO SOUTHERN
PENNSYLVANIA.
