NORTHWESTERN MONTANA.

WINTER STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR THE HIGH ELEVATIONS OF
CENTRAL IDAHO.

FLOOD WATCHES AND WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF

TO DIRECT ENERGETIC UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCES AND PACIFIC MOISTURE
INTO THE NORTHWESTERN PART OF THE U.S.  AT 600 AM PST...NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A BROAD
BAND OF PRECIPITATION EXTENDING FROM NORTHERN CALIFORNIA THROUGH
WESTERN OREGON...INTO SOUTHERN/EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTHERN
IDAHO AHEAD OF A DISSIPATING FRONT.  ANOTHER PATCH OF
PRECIPITATION WAS LOCATED IN SOUTHERN IDAHO.  MUCH OF THE
PRECIPITATION WAS IN THE FORM RAIN WITH THE HEAVIEST FALLING IN
NORTHWESTERN OREGON.

COUPLE DAYS...DIRECTING ADDITIONAL ENERGETIC DISTURBANCES INTO THE
PACIFIC NORTHWEST. PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN... WIND...AND HIGH
ELEVATION SNOW ARE EXPECTED TO PERSIST UNTIL AT LEAST THURSDAY
MORNING. THE HEAVIEST OF THE PRECIPITATION SHOULD FALL FROM THE
CASCADES WESTWARD INTO THE COASTAL SECTIONS OF
WASHINGTON...OREGON...AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.  RAINFALL TOTALS OF
4 TO 8 INCHES ARE EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.
IN ADDITION...THERE IS RISK FOR FLOODING TO OCCUR IN PORTIONS OF
OREGON AND EXTREME NORTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA TODAY AND TONIGHT.
