AT 800 AM CST...A SURFACE LOW WITH A CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 1010
MB...29.83 INCHES...WAS LOCATED ALONG THE BORDER OF NEBRASKA AND
IOWA. A COLD FRONT EXTENDED SOUTHWARD FROM THIS LOW INTO THE
CENTRAL PLAINS WHILE A QUASI-STATIONARY BOUNDARY WAS DRAPED
EASTWARD ACROSS THE MIDWEST. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER
RADARS AND OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF MODERATE TO
HEAVY SNOW FALLING FROM SOUTHERN MINNESOTA TO LOWER MICHIGAN.
ELSEWHERE...ACROSS THE NORTHERN PLAINS/NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
AS WELL AS PARTS OF THE OHIO VALLEY AND INTO THE NORTHERN

HIGHER AMOUNTS CAN BE EXPECTED TODAY ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST. AS
MUCH AS 4 TO 8 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...IS POSSIBLE
SUNDAY INTO MONDAY FROM LOWER MICHIGAN TO NEW ENGLAND AND THE
NORTHEAST. HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO A FOOT MAY BE POSSIBLE DOWNWIND OF
SOME OF THE GREAT LAKES WHERE LAKE EFFECT SNOWFALL WILL BE A
FACTOR. FARTHER SOUTH ACROSS THE NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC...LIGHTER
AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED WITH SOME LIGHT
FREEZING RAIN ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS OF
PENNSYLVANIA.
