A deep Kona low north-northwest of Hawaii should weaken as it
lifts north Sunday-Monday, but another shortwave/upper low will
drop in to the northwest of the islands behind it before weakening
later in the week. Despite these active systems, the heaviest
rainfall should remain west of the main islands, though some more
organized showers may continue this weekend across Kauai. Trades
should return to a more easterly direction after Sunday, with
mainly a windward and sea breeze focus for showers through the
week, as upper ridging and surface high pressure build back in to
the north of Hawaii and lasting through at least next weekend.
