Model Depiction of a TUTT Low Vertical Motion and Potential Temperature

In this chart, isotherms of potential temperature (blue) were plotted to show once again the cold core charcteristics of the TUTT low. Additionally, vertical motions were overlayed on a vector format, with the upward pointing arrows showing lifting.
West of 42W strong upward vertical motion is evident, consistent with the areas of upper divergence previously mentioned. Also note between 34W-40W an area of weak subsidence
