Storm Summary Number 1 for Heavy Rainfall and Wind Associated with
Tropical Storm Ida

...Heavy rain and tropical storm force winds will continue over
portions of the Lower Mississippi Valley today as Ida weakens
further into a Tropical Depression and moves north into the
Tennessee Valley...

Tropical Storm Warnigs are in effect for portions of eastern
Louisiana, central and southern Mississippi, extreme southwest
Alabama, and the extreme western Florida Panhandle.

Storm Surge Warnings remain in effect for portions of extreme
eastern Louisiana.

Tornado Watches are in effect for portions of southeast
Mississippi, southern Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle.

Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for portions of extreme eastern
Louisiana, southen Mississippi, and extreme southern Alabama.

Flash Flood Watches are in effect for portions of the Lower
Mississippi Valley, Southeast, Tennessee Valley, Lower Ohio
Valley, Central Appalachians, and the Mid-Atlantic.

Flood Warnings are in effect for rivers throughout eastern
Louisiana, Mississippi, western Alabama, and the extreme western
Florida Panhandle.

At 1000 AM EDT...National Weather Service Doppler Radar and
surface observations indicated that heavy rainfall around Ida is
currently generally isolated to the eastern side of the storm in
rainbands located over Mississippi, western Alabama, and the
extreme western Florida Panhandle. Meanwhile, the strongest wind
gusts in the 30kt range were recorded in southwest Mississippi and
eastern Louisiana, while lingering moderate rainfall was also
observed over extreme eastern Louisiana. Below are preliminary
rainfall and wind observations associated with Tropical Storm Ida.
Due to power outages and damage some stations are not reporting
rainfall from the highest impacted areas. Additionally, strong
winds from Ida may have led to under-reporting of rainfall in the
areas of strongest winds. For more information regarding the
