AT MIDNIGHT CDT THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION GEORGES WAS
LOCATED ABOUT 20 MILES EAST OF CRESTVIEW, FL IN THE FLORIDA
PANHANDLE. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS WERE AROUND 25 MPH WITH
HIGHER GUSTS IN SQUALLS TO THE EAST OF THE CENTER AS WELL AS OVER THE

CONTINUES EASTWARD OVER THE NEXT 24 TO 36 HOURS. T.D. GEORGE IS
EXPECTED TO EMERGE OFF THE GEORGIA COAST SOMETIME FRIDAY MORNING.
AS WITH MOST DECAYING TROPICAL SYSTEMS, GEORGES STILL POSES A MAJOR
THREAT FOR HEAVY RAIN AS WELL AS TORNADOS. AS A RESULT FLASH FLOOD

NORTHERN FLORIDA INCLUDING THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE..MUCH OF GEORGIA
EXCEPT THE NORTHWEST..AND PORTIONS OF SOUTH CAROLINA. BANDS OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING VERY SLOWLY EASTWARD THROUGH
THESE AREAS COULD PRODUCE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 6
INCHES IN PLACES OVERNIGHT. A TORNADO WATCH WAS IN EFFECT FOR
PORTIONS OF NORTHERN FLORIDA..SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL GEORGIA..AND
ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS UNTIL 5 AM EDT.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN QUITE IMPRESSIVE WITH "GEORGES" WITH
MANY AREAS ACROSS SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI..SOUTHERN ALABAMA..AND THE
WESTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE RECEIVING BETWEEN 15-20 INCHES OF RAIN
FROM THE STORM. RUNOFF FROM THESE IMPRESSIVE RAINS HAVE PROMPTED
FLOOD WARNINGS FOR MANY RIVERS FROM SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI EASTWARD
ACROSS SOUTHERN ALABAMA AND NORTHWEST FLORIDA. NEXRAD INDICATED
STORM TOTALS OF NEARLY 30 INCHES MAY HAVE OCCURRED IN A
NORTH/SOUTH BAND FROM SRN AL INTO THE WESTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE.
DUE TO THE EXTREME NATURE OF THIS STORM MOST OF THE OBSERVED
