...Rain and wind diminishing along the Mid-Atlantic coast as
Hurricane Dorian pulls away to the northeast...

Tropical Storm Warnings remain in effect for portions of southeast
Virginia, and the Delmarva, including the lower Chesapeake Bay. A
Tropical Storm Warning is also in effect for portions of the New
England coastline including southeastern Massachusetts, and
Downeast Maine. Storm Surge Warnings remain in effect for portions
of eastern North Carolina.

At 400 PM EDT...National Weather Service radar and surface
observations show the rainfall rapidly diminishing along coastal
areas of the Mid-Atlantic as Hurricane Dorian pulls away to the
northeast and away from the coast. However, some bands of showers
are impacting areas farther north across Long Island and coastal
areas of southeast New England. Locally strong and gusty winds, to
near tropical storm force, continue to be observed across the
North Carolina Outer Banks, and coastal areas of southeast
Virginia and the lower Delmarva. Below are preliminary rainfall
