Post-Tropical Cyclone Olga

as Olga merges with the frontal system in the Tennessee Valley... 

Flood Warnings are in effect across portions of the Mississippi
River in Missouri/Illinois and much of southeast Missouri and
portions of other rivers in central and southern Mississippi.

Flood Watches are in effect for portions of northeast Illinois.

A Flood Advisory is in effect across Southern Illinois.

At 300 PM CDT...National Weather Service radar and surface
observations showed the remnant post-tropical cyclone center of
Olga with central barometric pressure of 1002 millibars, or 29.59
inches of mercury, in western Tennessee merging into a cold front
associated with a stronger, deepening surface low in western
Kentucky with a central pressure of 996 millibars, or 29.41 inches
of mercury. Ahead of the cold front and very near the center of
Olga's remnants were shallow but strong thunderstorms capable of
heavy rainfall extending from western Tennessee to the Gulf Coast
in the western Florida panhandle. A broad precipitation shield
extended from eastern Missouri across northern Illinois, Indiana
and much of Ohio associated more with the tropical moisture
overrunning the warm front along the Ohio River. Below are

developing frontal low.

Post-Tropical Cyclone Olga is nearly absorbed into the frontal
zone across western Tennessee is likely to be fully dissipated in
the line over the next hour or so in western Kentucky. The frontal
surface low will track north-northeast through the Central
Mississippi Valley later this evening and shift toward the Wabash
River Valley along the Illinois/Indiana border toward late
evening/overnight. Tropical moisture associated with will continue
to stream over the warm front and angle back across Illinois
presenting the best environment for prolonged moderate to heavy
rainfall tonight into tomorrow. While flash flooding threat is
reducing, longer duration flooding remains a concern. As such
Flood Watches and Flood Advisories are in effect across the
Mississippi River Valley into Illinois through this afternoon. For
