QUICKLY NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE MIDDLE ATLANTIC STATES...
AT 6:00 PM EDT THE CENTER OF GORDON WAS AT 33.5N 82.2W, OR ABOUT 20
MILES WEST OF ORANGEBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA. IT CONTINUES TO MOVE
NORTH-NORTHEAST AT AROUND 15 MPH. THE CENTRAL PRESSURE WAS 1010 MB
WITH WINDS AROUND 10 MPH OCCURRING NEAR THE CENTER. WINDS OF 20-30
MPH WERE OCCURRING ALONG THE COASTS OF NORTH AND SOUTH CAROLINA.
THE LATEST REGIONAL RADAR PICTURES CONTINUED TO SHOW AREAS OF
HEAVY RAIN OVER WESTERN SOUTH AND NORTH CAROLINA, AND OVER
EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN ONE-HALF AND
ONE INCH WERE COMMON OVER THE WESTERN CAROLINAS. SOME EASTERN
NORTH AND SOUTH CAROLINA COMMUNITIES HAVE SEEN VERY HEAVY RAINS
TODAY THAT CAUSED FLOODING.

FLOOD WATCHES REMAIN IN EFFECT INTO TONIGHT FOR MOST OF CENTRAL
AND EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. LOCAL RAINFALL OF ONE TO THREE INCHES
ARE EXPECTED THAT COULD CAUSE ADDITIONAL RISES ON SMALL STREAMS
AND FLOODING OF URBAN AREAS.
THE REMNANTS OF GORDON WILL MOVE INTO NORTH CAROLINA TONIGHT, THE
DELMARVA TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND FINALLY PASS JUST SOUTH OF LONG
ISLAND WEDNESDAY MORNING.
