The prototype period for WPC's Mesoscale Precipitation Discussions (MPDs) has come to an end as of Friday, September 14. The experimental
phase of these products is expected to begin in December.
We will be using the time between September 14 and December to review feedback in an effort to improve the product. The goal is for these
MPDs from WPC to replace the MDs for heavy rainfall currently issued by the SPC.
