CONTINUING THE SEVERE WEATHER AND FLOOD THREAT...

A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF MISSISSIPPI...
ARKANSAS...TENNESSEE AND THE MISSOURI BOOT HEEL.

FLOOD AND FLASH FLOOD WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF
ARKANSAS...SOUTHEAST MISSOURI...TENNESSEE...MISSISSIPPI...
LOUISIANA...ALABAMA...AND THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE. 

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF LOUISIANA AND
MISSISSIPPI.

AT 10 AM CDT...15Z...TROPICAL DEPRESSION RITA WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 35.2 NORTH...AND LONGITUDE 91.6 WEST...OR 40 MILES
NORTHEAST OF LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS.

THE DEPRESSION IS NOW MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.  THIS GENERAL
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY WITH CONTINUED
SLOW WEAKENING. 

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH.  THE
MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE WAS 997 MB...OR 29.44 INCHES.
